Friday evening was the Inter Campus Unity Dodgeball Competition and it was held in SEGi University College, Kota Damansara. In dodgeball, each team has to have 6 people.
How the game works?
It's all about throwing and dodging the ball to and from the opponent team. If we throw the ball and it hits the opponent then that person will be out. If we throw but that person catches it then the person who throw the ball is out. This game will go on until all 6 of one team is out. To win the game one team have to win 5 rounds of it and the game can last up to 9 rounds.
So, the teams that appear that evening was of course our own team which is Barbarians, Hyenas from Taylors, Mitans from MIT, Boltz from KBU, Predators from Life, Velocity from dunnowhere and the rest is from KDU, Monash, MMU, UCSI, Binary, etc.
The event started with a friendly match between the 8tv Quickie host Belinda and Henry and some other staff against our team. Then it was the arrival of VIPs and the teams. While waiting for the media to come, we saw Belinda coming out so I asked if we could take a pic together. Mun Ya, also in-charge of media registration with me came in as well and we asked a guy to take for us. He said he snapped but apparently the pic was not in the camera. Mun Ya and I was preety disappointed la :[
Anyway, the game started around 6 something. Our team was against some college for the first round but I can't recall what college was that. Don't care as long we won and got into semi-finals :D.. Then semi-finals we were against UCSI. This game was so so kan cheong. There is one guy from UCSI's team act like he damn lan si but then too bad guys..YOU LOST!!!..muahahaha..So we got into the quarter finals. We were against the Mitans to run for CHAMPION.
Mitans won the first round. Then during the second round, the Barbarians was a little stronger so we won. The third and fourth round was won by the Mitans again. Then we changed player and we won the fifth and sixth round. I would say Mitans are good in a way but of course our team is also strong. Anyway, Mitans won the seventh and Barbarians won the eighth. The last round is the one that determine who will be the champion that night. I was praying and screaming for our team until I had sore throat. Our team was already weak because they used a lot of strength to win the eighth round. Our team has a Nigerian in it and the Mitans were basically ALL Malays so they didn't like him and keep attacking him. He manage to dodge a lot but many balls came towards him and he was out. He is one of the strong player in our team. The Mitans supporters were saying "Negro balik kampung, balik rumah la". When I heard I was like "WTF! It's public man. How could you say such thing during the competition". I would say the referee was being so unfair also. There was so many game previously where MANY (and I really mean MANY) players cross their border and they were not out but when we left ONE player in our team against 4 players from Mitans, he blew the whistle and say we're out. SO fucking gawd damn disappointed, and because of that we lost to Mitans. Anyway, the Barbarians did A PRETTY GOOD JOB. BARBARIANS, KEEP IT UP AND DON'T GIVE UP!! WE WILL WIN THE NEXT COMPETITION WHICH COMES AROUND. We are proud of you say we are proud of you!! Hooray!!
Guess what time the competition ends? 1 something in the morning. We had to stay back to clean up the place and I only reach home at 3.30 so I did not attend the replacement class yesterday morning. Pictures will be up as soon as Chloe and Mun Ya pass it to me.
