Tribute to the King of Pop, Michael Jackson

Yesterday, after doing a little of my coursework, I didn't have the mood already so I suggested to my mom that we go out somewhere. Anywhere will do. Then she said she want to dye her hair first so I waited. Then when she's done she say go 1U la. So I said "OK la. Maybe can catch the event which is going on in 1U (new wing main entrance). So we left the house and first thing I did was to go Jusco to buy a bottle of H2O cause I was freaking thirsty. Then I wanted to pee so badly but my mom say she want to use the ATM in LG Arena so I say I meet her downstairs after I get my water. Guess what happened? Her card was stuck in the machine. Then she ask me to wait there while she ran up to the bank to see what she can do. Luckily the bank was still open BUT the staff there were not too friendly.

Anyway, after that we went to Rotiboy cause I was hungry. Right after I got my bun we saw more and more people heading towards the main entrance so we quickly made our way there. Thankfully there is still place with good view. We stand at the same spot for almost 2 hours. Wanna know for what? Maybe some of you who's reading this was there too. It was an event of tribute to the King of Pop MICHAEL JACKSON. It started at 6.45 with Adam C doing some short shoot on the event. Then the emcee which is one of our Miss Malaysia Universe, Yasmin Yusuff started to introduce herself and tell us some info about MJ's death. There was one thing I didn't know if she didn't said. That is MJ is the godfather to Nicole Richie.

So ya, the event went on with the DJs playing MJ's short film (he don't call his video as video; it's short film to him) and in between those films artist like Beyonce, Quincy Jones, Shaggy, Mary J. Blige, Missy Elliot, etc was commenting on his singing and dancing and of cause his signature move which is the moonwalk. The crowd was clapping in rhythm and they sang along to his short films as if they were at his concert. After those short films ended, there were not one but 3 impersonator of MJ. Among them the third one was the best. From far he really look so like MJ. The dance move, singing, moonwalk, etc. He also competed in some competition (can't really rmbr what is it called - err, Malaysia MJ or something like that gua) and performed in Singapore, Thailand, Jakarta, and a few more places. His next destination will be Beijing.
After the performance we were allowed to sign on the big wall with the picture of MJ standing on his toes. Everyone was rushing to sign but luckily there was security there so it was not too bad. This wall will be sent to MJ's management in the US. While signing Alam (winner of So You Think You Can Dance) went on stage to do some dance moves.

The public was given the chance to say a word or two or do anything they want to pay their tribute to MJ. The first guy who went on stage was Praveen (Don't know if I spelled correctly). He sang so well and he imitated MJ with those "uh" at the end of each line that he sang. He was so good then Yasmin ask him did he go for singing classes and all and he said no but he told us that he joined Malaysian Idol in 2005 (the year when Daniel won). Then Yasmin said if we knew he was in everyone here would have voted for him and the crowd went so wild they actually wanted more from him. Awesome one.
The second one who went up was a 12 years old boy who came with his dad and siblings and he danced to Billie Jean. Yasmin was like OMG all the time. LOL! But man, that boy is really good too. Yasmin asked him how many hours he take to practice everyday and guess what's his answer...... He said 5 MINUTES. Everyone started laughing and Yasmin stared at him for awhile. He was wearing a plain white t-shirt with "I LOVE YOU MICHAEL JACKSON" in front and "MICHAEL JACKSON" behind together with a maroon jacket and the pants just like MJ until can see his white socks.

The third and fourth guy who went up was not as good as the previous 2 but then again, they did it just to pay their tribute so *clap clap* for them. The fifth one was 2 best friends who are studying in an international school in Paramount Garden. They are age 15 and 16. One of them is really good but they still sound good together.

Before the event ended everyone sang along to Man In The Mirror, You Are Not Alone, and Heal The World. While we were singing the second song tears started to roll down my cheek. Suddenly I felt so emo. Then there was one journalist, if I'm not mistaken, was recording the atmosphere and she was coming nearer and nearer to me. WTH? Damn embarrassing lorr. But I pretend not to notice her of course. Through the 3rd song tears was still coming down. After it ended, she actually came over to me and asked me a few questions. I guess she's from a Chinese paper company. Hopefully my pic won't be in there. If the interview part only ok la..*paiseh*

We had a moment of silence to pay our respect for him and then people continued to sign the wall. Those who got the tealight candles lighted them up, put in the paper cup which is given to them, and waved it in the air. Before we left they played Heal The World once again. Some of the words in his songs are just so meaningful that it touch many hearts out there. He's still the King of Pop no matter he is black or white :D

I don't think I'll upload the video cause I just realised it was so small. *sob sob*. Maybe a few pictures will do. But will upload only after my class later.

Michael, may God lead you to a better place and may you have eternal life over there. God bless and your songs will be remembered by us. Oh, I just remembered one thing that Sasi de Don said which is we should be grateful that we were born in the 19 century to know who is the King of Pop cause not many of us actually know who was the King of Rock (Elvis Presley). I agree with that.

He just look so good when he was younger ^-^
